PET/CT System with the Industry’s Largest Bore, Widest Field-of-View and Faster Imaging to Be Showcased at RSNA
Tustin, Calif., Oct. 27, 2014 – Hospitals will now be able to provide their patients with a better PET/CT imaging experience with the FDA-cleared Celesteion from Toshiba America Medical Systems, Inc. The versatile system combines high-performance PET and CT for all radiation and oncology imaging needs, including tumor detection, treatment evaluation and CT simulation scans.
As new healthcare initiatives put greater emphasis on patient satisfaction and system utilization, the Celesteion’s numerous patient-friendly features are designed for this new landscape. These include:
- Industry’s largest bore – Offering a feeling of openness and versatile patient positioning
- Fast and accurate diagnoses – Accurate lesion detection with 450ps timing resolution and a 70cm PET and CT field-of-view, enhanced spatial resolution with 4mm PET crystals and 0.5mm CT detector elements and fast exam times with 20cm PET Z-axis coverage
- System versatility – A total cost-of-ownership solution, the Celesteion can perform diagnostic CT imaging, CT interventions, PET/CT imaging and CT radiation oncology simulation scans
- CT dose reduction – Ensuring patient safety is not a choice, Celesteion comes standard with Toshiba’s most advanced CT dose reduction technology, AIDR 3D, and conforms to the requirements of MITA’s XR-29 Smart Dose Standard
“Toshiba puts its customers first by providing innovative solutions that consistently deliver accurate and efficient results while improving workflow for providers,” said Satrajit Misra, senior director, CT Business Unit, Toshiba. “We are introducing Celesteion because we know there is a specific need for a PET/CT system that puts patients first.”
Toshiba is showcasing the new technology at this year’s Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) annual meeting in Chicago, Nov. 30–Dec. 5, 2014 (Booth #7333, North Hall).
