HEAD’S Gasquet Takes Growing Confidence into Wimbledon
Eastborne/England – 22nd June, 2014 – HEAD Racquet Rebel Richard Gasquet takes full confidence into Wimbledon after coming close to a trophy hat-trick at the tune-up ATP event at Eastbourne. The two-time champion from 2005 and 2006, who won when the event was played in Nottingham, finished as runner-up after a narrow 3-6, 7-6 (5), 5-7 scoreline against Feliciano Lopez in the final.
The top seed, who recommends the HEAD IG Extreme, ended with nine aces after almost two and a quarter hours of grass-court battling against the Spaniard as Gasquet missed out on his 11th ATP trophy and third on grass. “It’s always difficult to lose the final, but I tried my best”, said the French who turned 28 last week.
The HEAD player who is coming off of back problems which kept him off court for two months, is pleased to be feeling fully fit for the Wimbledon start. “The most important was here to feel no pain, to feel good, to play 100 per cent. I feel very good with my body, and of course I can play in Wimbledon. This is one of the biggest tournaments in the world. I did semis one time; I know I can play well there. I will try to do my best. I’m feeling better and better and better!”
