2011 International CES
LAS VEGAS–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Acer America Corp. today announced that it has been selected by the editors at CNET (www.cnet.com) as a finalist in this year’s “Best of CES” awards for its new Acer ICONIA, an innovative, highly intuitive tablet PC with a unique dual-screen layout in a 14-inch form factor. Winners will be announced on Saturday, Jan. 8, at 11:00 a.m. (PST) live at the CNET booth in the South Hall lobby.
The “Best of CES” Awards, which are produced and judged by CNET, recognize the hottest products at the 2011 CES, including a Best in Show and People's Voice award selected by the CNET online audience. The awards recognize the most innovative products that set the standard for all other products in the industry. Leading up to and throughout the show, CNET editors will be blogging about pre-show, buzz-worthy products in a variety of tech categories, including mobile apps; televisions; tablets; and cell phones and smartphones.
Designed to provide an optimal all-point multi-touch experience, the Acer ICONIA boasts two 14-inch HD displays and a full range of intuitive and user-friendly features and applications. Multimedia, entertainment, communication and web browsing seamlessly flow across the dual screen for improving readability of web sites or documents. It’s perfect for multitasking, allowing users to do one thing on one screen and something else entirely on the other screen. The convenient Acer Ring allows users to quickly launch applications by scrolling through the application card and tapping the one they want. It also provides fast access to Virtual keyboard, Gesture Editor, Windows Manager and Device Control Console. A wealth of built-in touch applications easily manage content and provide a seamless experience. The Acer ICONIA is based on Intel® Core™ i5 and sports HDMI for high-def viewing on a large TV and Dolby Home Theater V3 for dynamic, immersive audio.
“We’re thrilled that our new ICONIA is a finalist of this prestigious award from CNET, a market leader in technology product reviews,” said Jenda Chen, director, product management for Acer America. “We’re passionate about technology’s ability to simplify and enhance people’s lives. The increasing convergence in computing, communication and consumer devices combined with a heightened awareness of human factors in product design, make today one of the most exciting times in technology. We’re looking forward to seeing it emerge as a popular choice among consumers in the burgeoning tablet category.”
